Located at the southernmost tip of the Kansai region,
Wakayama Prefecture is a nature-rich area
surrounded by the sea.
This course lets you enjoy a full day of fun
in the great outdoors of Wakayama.
-
9:30
- Departure (approx. 1.5 hours)
- Depart from a station or hotel in Osaka City and head to Wakayama's largest resort island.
-
11:00
- Wakayama Marina City
(approx. 2 hours) - An artificial island in Wakayama Bay, this is the number one theme park in the prefecture, featuring attractions, shopping, restaurants, a fishing pond, and accommodations. It's a facility that can be thoroughly enjoyed by both children and adults, and you could easily spend the whole day here if time allowed. For this course, enjoy lunch and a stroll around the area.
- Wakayama Marina City
-
- Porto Europa
- A theme park modeled after medieval Europe. You can enjoy a walk while admiring the beautiful streetscapes reminiscent of historical France, Italy, and Spain. The brick buildings truly make you feel as though you've stepped into another country. There are plenty of photo spots throughout, so be sure to snap some memorable shots as you explore.
-
- Kuroshio Market
- For lunch, we recommend Kuroshio Market, a tuna-themed park within Wakayama Marina City. Here you can sample various cuts of tuna and witness exciting tuna filleting shows. This is a rare market where you can enjoy freshly cut raw tuna. In the food court, you'll also find buffet-style options and the local specialty, Wakayama Ramen. There’s even a BBQ area specialized in seafood grilling. Enjoy fresh seafood and vegetables while gazing out at the ocean — it’s an experience you won’t forget.
-
13:00
- Transfer (approx. 1 hour 20 mins)
- After your mini overseas adventure, head to the only zoo in Kansai where you can see pandas.
-
14:20
- Adventure World (approx. 3 hours)
- Located in Shirahama, a popular hot spring area, Adventure World is a unique theme park that combines a zoo, aquarium, and amusement park. In the “Safari World,” where land animals roam, you can see giant pandas — the only place in Kansai where they are kept. You’ll also meet rare animals like white tigers, which are hardly seen in the wild, and the majestic king of the jungle, the lion. There are areas where you can interact with some of the animals and feel their warmth up close.
In the “Marine World,” home to marine life, you’ll encounter cute waddling penguins and spotted seals known as “gomafu-azarashi.” Daily shows feature dolphins and sea lions, giving you a chance to witness the amazing talents of these sea creatures up close. The park also offers interactive tours, where you can become a dolphin trainer, give them signals, feed them snacks, and even swim alongside them — making every visit a new adventure.
Finally, the play zone features classic amusement rides such as roller coasters, Ferris wheels, and merry-go-rounds. There are even carts that children as young as two can ride, making it a fun-filled area for the whole family.
