Kyoto Arashiyama Plan

Kyoto, a city steeped in history, offers not only ancient architecture but also rich natural beauty.
This time, we present a journey where you can truly experience Kyoto’s natural charm.

  • 9:30
    Departure (approx. 1 hour)
Start from a station or hotel in central Osaka and head to Hankyu “Arashiyama” Station.
  • 10:30
    Arashiyama
Once a retreat for the imperial family and nobility, Arashiyama is considered Japan’s oldest villa district. Beloved for its seasonal beauty, this scenic area is still a favorite destination today. All tourist attractions are within walking distance from Arashiyama Station. While it’s possible to travel by car, due to heavy tourist traffic and frequent congestion, walking is recommended. To fully enjoy Arashiyama’s natural surroundings, we suggest exploring on foot—please wear comfortable clothing.
This plan begins from the southern Hankyu Arashiyama Station route.
  • 10:30
    Transfer (approx. 10 mins)
First stop: a lively mountain home to friendly animals.
  • 10:40
Arashiyama Monkey Park Iwatayama (approx. 1 hour)
Located near Hankyu Arashiyama Station, this mountain park is home to over 100 wild Japanese macaques. You can observe them in their natural state, feed them, and enjoy an athletic area and rest spot at the summit with sweeping views of Kyoto city. It’s a fun place for both children and adults.

    Togetsukyo Bridge (approx. 10 mins)
Togetsukyo Bridge blends harmoniously into the surrounding landscape and is considered the symbol of Arashiyama. In spring, enjoy the cherry blossoms; in summer, the murmuring of the Oi River; in autumn, fiery red foliage; and in winter, beautiful snowy scenes. The bridge is 155 meters long and takes about 10 minutes to cross at a relaxed pace. It is also associated with the traditional “Jusan Mairi” ritual, where 13-year-old children visit a temple for blessings. According to tradition, you must not look back after crossing the bridge, or your wishes may not come true—so be careful!
